Recycling Tours

Visit the County's Award Winning Recycling Center!

Curious to learn more about how recycling works? Free guided tours are available at the Montgomery County Recycling Center.

FOR INDIVIDUALS: Individuals are welcome to visit at any time, weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

FOR GROUPS: Tours can be scheduled for groups ranging in age from preschoolers to seniors, weekdays between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Allow one hour for guided tours. Visitors enjoy an age-appropriate presentation on recycling, reuse, and waste reduction, then head upstairs to view the Center's sorting machinery. Please call 301-417-1433 to schedule a time.

The Recycling Center is located at 16105 Frederick Road, just south of Shady Grove Road.

Combine and place these items into paper bags and/or small cardboard boxes next to or on top of your blue bin.

· Newspapers
· Magazines
· Corrugated cardboard
· Cereal and other boxes
· Telephone books
· Computer and office paper
· Catalogs
· Unwanted mail
· Paperback books
· All other clean, dry paper

Place these items in your blue bin.

· Glass bottles and jars
· Plastic bottles with necks
· Aluminum and steel/tin cans
· Disposable aluminum foil products
